A: The Vacuum Forging process that is used on these heads,
afforded SMT the option of making the face as thin as possible,
while still maintaining the structural integrity to stand up to
the rigors of driving a golf ball. If SMT were to put score lines
in the face, it would be similar to "scoring" a bathroom
tile..... that is where it would break apart.
The lack of face marking, actually reduces the spin of the ball
by 1%, truly making these clubs more accurate as well as allowing
the ball to "hit the ground running" for
increased distance.
In 2005 several other companies have copied SMT's breakthrough concept & removed all scorelines from their drivers. If ya can't beat em....
